Ask your MP to oppose clauses NC2 and NC3 of the Crime and Policing Bill 2025

Two amendments have been proposed to the Crime and Policing Bill that would cause great harm to sex workers. So far they haven’t been debated or voted on but a number of MPs have signed up to support them and they will be put forward again at the next stage (Report stage) of the Bill. So MPs -- our representatives in Parliament -- need to hear from us!

You can see if your MP is one that has signed up in support of these clauses here.

Clauses NC2 and NC3 of the Crime and Policing Bill 2025 aim to criminalise a) anyone who associates with a sex worker – workmates, drivers, web makers, receptionists, friends, clients, and b) advertising sites which sex workers depend on to work independently and in greater safety.

Claims that these clauses will tackle sexual exploitation are false and based on misinformation. Criminalising people that sex workers associate with and the platforms which they rely on to advertise will make it more dangerous and difficult to work and earn a living.

For more information see our briefing here.

We are also shocked that these clauses are being put forward by a Labour MP and supported by others when their own government is cutting benefits, increasing poverty and therefore pushing more women into prostitution. Labour women MPs, who themselves earn £93,000 a year, are taking money out of women’s hands and making it harder for them to survive and feed their families.
